ERHARDT Norman Julius Norman Julius Erhardt, son of Erwin and Julie, died suddenly near Bassano, Alberta on May 30, 2006. He is survived by his wife Ruth of fifty-seven years; four daughters, Stephanie (Floyd George), Susan (Dan Boden), Nancy (Dave Saint) and Nola; four grandchildren, Layla (Gareth), Jennifer (Kaynn), Christopher (Danielle) and Erica (Clayton); two brothers, Julius and Paul (Terry); two sisters-in-law, Edith and Margaret and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from oilfield inspection, Norman had the ability to create anything with his hands, with any material. He loved to carve and do woodworking and produced beautiful work. Norman had a great love of music. He also restored many items to their original beauty, including gramophones, cars and old bicycles. Norman earned his pilot's license in 1976, built several planes and was an avid flier. He was always disappointed when it was not a good flying day. Norman was a member of the Masons, the Shriners and the Eastern Star. He had a smile for everyone and was always ready and willing to help anyone. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Norman was predeceased by an infant daughter Mildred, parents, and two brothers, Walter and Albert. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. from the Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano, Rev. Hector Rose officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Norman's many friends.
