GILLMOR David Alan McLeod David was born in Winnipeg on May 11, 1957 and spent his youth there and in Calgary. Since 1984 he has lived in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. David was dearly loved by his family and many friends: his wife Katherine in Whitehorse; his beloved daughter Ivy in Calgary; his parents, Douglas and Donna in Calgary; and his siblings, Don Gillmor and Grazyna Krupa and children Justine and Cormac in Toronto and Alison Gillmor and Jeffery Hershfield and children Andrew and Sophia in Winnipeg. He is also survived by uncles, aunts and cousins in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ottawa and Toronto. David had a varied career in Whitehorse. In his earlier years in Whitehorse he performed in community theatre drama and musical productions. He was also well known as a performer with local musicians up and down the Yukon Territory as well as in Whitehorse. Later he was a broadcaster and writer at CHOM-FM and a music columnist in two local newspapers. His joy was blue grass music and he was a talented pianist, string player, vocalist and band member for many years. His parents would welcome friends at their home, 712 Memorial Drive, on Friday, August 4,2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. to share and remember the good times.
