PORTER Albert Bain Born September 21, 1925 went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2006 at the age of 80. He was born in Cullen, Scotland. Albert served with Her Majesty's Navy in World War II as a minesweeper. He married Inge in 1950 and moved to Canada in 1957 where he worked as a butcher until 1961 when he worked as a Steward at Stony Mountain Penitentiary. They moved to Drumheller in 1967 and Al worked at the Drumheller Penitentiary first as Head Steward, working his way to Assistant Warden until 1986 when he retired. He enjoyed gardening and camping in the Rockies. He is survived by Inge, his loving wife of fifty-five years; their son Ian in Calgary; their daughter Donna (Randy); granddaughters, Rachel and Kristi; "adopted" daughter Joan, and many close friends and great neighbors. A Memorial Service will be held at EVERDEN RUST FUNERAL SERVICES (1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton) on Wednesday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
