ORME Jessie Ann (Cashore) Born June 24, 1933 in Lethbridge, Alta. Died June 24, 2006 at Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, BC. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Leslie Ann Orme Wheatley, Jennifer Orme; son Douglas Orme; her three beloved grandchildren and grandnephews; sister Mildred Gillies; brother John Cashore; and many friends and relations. She is predeceased by her husband, Michael E.J. Orme PhD and her son James (Jim) Orme. Jessie Ann spent her formative years in Lethbridge where she actively contributed to award winning choirs and C.G.I.T. She completed her B.Ed at the University of Alberta (Edmonton), and as president of Pembina Hall, was instrumental in changing paternalistic rules. In 1960 she and Michael were married. During the 1960's, they and their growing family lived in Edmonton, Calgary, Stanford, Boston, and Bloomington. They finally returned to Canada to settle in Toronto in the early 1970's where Jessie pursued a career in teacher training. Jessie Ann spent the last very happy years of her life in West Vancouver. A Celebration of Jessie Ann's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2006 at West Vancouver United Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
