
GELINAS, “Chappy“ Lionel, Joseph, Augustine - In loving memory of “Chappy“ Lionel J.A. Gelinas, 89 years of Sudbury who passed away Monday, June 26th, 2006 at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. He was born in Iroquois Falls and married Winnifred (Jones). Lionel came to Sudbury in 1956. A proud Canadian he served overseas during World War II in the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Engineers. In younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and travelling. A skilled Mr. Fix-It he enjoyed a repair or renovation project. Lionel was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Winnifred (Jones) Gelinas predeceased. Loving father of Jeanne Piata (husband John) and Patricia Cronin (husband Dan) both of Markstay, Edward (wife Rosalind Gilbert) of Sudbury, Roger of Skead, Robert (wife Irene) of Hamilton, Dereck (wife Blanche) of Skead, Claudette Moreau (husband Leo) of Thunder Bay, Theresa Layton (husband Lawrence) of Oshawa, Annette Estey (husband Frank) of Cranbrook, B.C. and the late Sheila and Vivian both predeceased. Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear son of Ernest and Anna (Gauthier) Gelinas predeceased. Dear brother of Simone Curry, Jeanne Denault, Ernest, Henry, Rolly, Blanche, Alphonse and Maurice Gelinas all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Prayers in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Thursday, June 29th, 2006 at 1 p.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
