GOBBO, Ida (Aida) - In loving memory of Ida (Aida) Gobbo, 83 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Tuesday, July 4th, 2006 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Ida was born in Copper Cliff and grew up in Coniston. She was a longtime resident of Levesque Subdivision. A devout Roman Catholic she attended St. Paul the Apostle Church and she belonged to the parish CWL. She also participated in other ministries of the church including the Christ the King Prayer Group. A well respected educator she had taught for the Sudbury Separate School Board for 35 years, retiring in 1979. The schools she taught at included St. Cecilia, St. Bernadette, St. Aloysius and St. Gabriel. Always quick to help others she was a volunteer with the Sudbury Regional Palliative Care Assoc., Telecare and the Inner City Home. She enjoyed opera and classical music. Ida was a world traveller having extensively toured all the continents except Antartica. She inspired others with her joie de vivre and enthusiasm in embracing life for example becoming computer literate at age 80. She will be well remembered by her loving family and friends. Beloved daughter of Emilio and Carlotta (Marcon) Gobbo predeceased. Loving sister of Andy Gobbo predeceased (wife Helen of Coniston), Noreen Reynolds (husband Jack predeceased) of Lillooet B.C., Guido Gobbo (wife Connie) both predeceased, Rose Beland (husband Charles) both predeceased. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Paul the Apostle Church, Coniston, Saturday, July 8th, 2006 at 11 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Prayers 3 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers donations to the Northeastern Regional Cancer Centre, 4th Floor Palliative Care Unit (SRH), Mass for Shut-Ins or Inner City Home would be appreciated.
