DOKIS, Allan C. Dokis Sr.- In loving memory of Allan C. Dokis Sr., 61 years, who passed away Friday, July 7th, 2006 at his residence. Beloved father of Laura Kerr (husband Donald) of North Bay, Kathy Ranney (husband Ian) of Lively, Allan Jr. (wife Carrie) of North Bay and Barret (wife Shaylan) of Sudbury. Cherished Papa Do (Kis) to Lucas, Mackenzie, Kyra, Brendan, Maya and Julia. Sadly missed by Bonnie Dokis-Grozelle (husband Mike) of Wahnapitae. Dear son of Fred and Amelia (Goulais) Dokis predeceased. Dear brother of Leo of Sarnia, Ray of Brampton, Mel (wife Patricia) of Calgary and the late Maurice, Neil and Gail all predeceased. Allan was born in Sturgeon Falls. He settled in the Sudbury area in 1971. He had been a project officer with Industry Canada having 13 years service with the Government of Canada. He was a well known and respected leader within the northern First Nations communities. He was a proud member of the Dokis First Nation Community. He was a longtime member of the Sudbury Multicultural Association Board of Directors and member of the anti-racism committee which partnered with our local police services. He was a member of the Nickel Belt Indian Club. He helped found the N'Swakamok Friendship Center. Allan's efforts mentored and developed many urban aboriginal initiatives. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Wednesday, July 12th, 2006 at 10 a.m. Donations to the N'Swakamok Friendship Center would be appreciated
