WARD, Louanne Irene - The family announces with sorrow her peaceful death at her home, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, July 8th, 2006, at the age of 45 years. She fought a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Eldest child of the late Guy Ward. Beloved daughter of Claire (nee Lamoureux) Ward. Beloved sibling of Alan Ward, Patty Ann Ward and sisterly loved by Deborah Plouffe (husband Denis). Special “Matante” to her niece Caleigh Byrd, fondly remembered as “BooBoo” to Chantal, Daniel, Paul and Michelle Plouffe, whom she loved all so dearly. Survived also by her grandmother Florina Lamoureux of Ottawa. Cherished niece of Sylvia Leclair (Rejean) of Montreal, Rachel Tremblay of Ottawa, Gabrielle (Leo) Vienneau, Ferrier (Valentine) Ward, Fred (Shirley) Ward all of Bathurst, NB and Yvette (Kevin) McDonald of Wolfville, NS. Also survived by many cousins. Louanne was a Medical Laboratory Technologist having worked at Sudbury Regional Hospital (St. Joseph's Health Centre) for 18 years. She enjoyed her career working alongside her colleagues and teaching this discipline at Cambrian College. She was a dedicated teacher and lovingly taught Sunday School to many children and adults. She enjoyed literature, music and fine things. She loved gardening as her father did with beautiful perennial gardens at both her Sudbury and St-Isidore, NB homes. She was known for her great faith, her kindness, generosity, strong work ethic and the ability to undertake anything she was entrusted to do. The family expresses its appreciation to Dr. Colin Germond (oncologist), Lizette Deacon R.N., the chemotherapy nurses at the Cancer Centre and to the Bayshore nurses, especially to Diane Demeis R.N. and Elaine Klym, R.N. for their kind and compassionate care given to Louanne during her illness. Also thanking CCAC, Palliative Care Association (Jane Oliver and Debbie Whitehead) and the L.D.S. Relief Society for the services provided to the family to care for Louanne within her home. The family will receive friends at the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd., East (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury Tuesday July 11th from 2-5 & 7-9:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July 12th 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 900 Cambrian Heights Drive (off Notre-Dame). Donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
