MARCON, Liberale “Sliver“ - The Marcon family announces with sorrow the death of Liberale “Sliver“ Marcon, peacefully, at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian site on Monday, July 10, 2006, at the age of 82. He was a loving husband of Annette (Casas-Poirier) and Rita (nee Oliver predeceased-1988). Loving father of Alan (wife Kelly) of Sudbury, Doug (wife Suzan) of Coniston and Chris (wife Debbie) of Stittsville. Loving step-father of Laura (husband Mike Thompson) of Sudbury, Michael Casas (wife Jola) of Toronto, Maria Casas of Sudbury and Petra (husband John Petherick) of Timmins. Loving son of Pietro and Romana Marcon (predeceased). Loving brother of Livia (husband Sylvester Rivard predeceased), Letitia (husband Armand Lemieux) and Albino Marcon (wife Sharon). He was the BEST Nono in the world to Joshua, Krista, Jason, Shannon, Lindsey, Christopher, Sydney, John, Sarah, Alina, Alex, Lauren and Madelyn. He was a loving neighbour to Brian and Joanna Dobson and new son Owen. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. 'Sliver' was born and raised in Coniston and worked at the Coniston Smelter as a First Class Machinist and later as a foreman in Copper Cliff and Electro-winning building, retiring in 1982 with 42 years of service. He loved his family very much and was always there for them. He was active in the community as a school board member, former President and life member of the Club Allegri and helped organize Pensioners Curling events and socials in Coniston. He was an avid blood donor and inspired others to do the same. As a young man he was involved in sports and loved to fish and hunt with his friends and brothers-in-law Art and Penner. He played hockey with the Coniston Old-Timers until he was 72. He even sharpened his own skates with a home-made skate sharpener. He could fix just about anything. He was great dancer and was sharp dresser. His love for his family was first and foremost to him and he left all of us with a strong loving spirit. He will be deeply missed by all. Resting at the J ACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Rd. Sudbury, Friday, July 14th, 2006 at 10 a.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium Prayers 3 p.m. Thursday. Donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or Samaritan Center would be appreciated
