STEINKE, Verner Evald Steinke - of Massey passed away at the Espanola General Hospital on Monday, July 10, 2006 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Byrna (nee Olmstead). Dear son of the late Julius and Edna (Maahs) Steinke. Loving father of Karen (Mrs. George Ayton), Lois McGregor (husband Tom predeceased) both of Massey, Ron (wife Judy) of Newmarket, Terry (wife Isobel) and Wade (wife Diana) both of Sault Ste. Marie, Douglas of Massey and Sheila (Mrs. Richard Diguer) of Espanola and the late Jeanne Moffatt (husband Mike). Will be sadly missed by 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Edgar (wife Eva) of Peterborough and the late Albert Steinke (wife Gladys). Verner was born in Massey and was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church. he was employed at the KVP-Domtar Mill in Espanola for 32 years retiring in 1984. He loved cabinet making and carpentry. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Resting at the MASSEY VISITATION CENTRE on Wednesday, July 12th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, July 13th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Paul Roellchen-Pfohl officiating. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Massey. Donations to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Massey Area Museum Building Fund would be appreciated. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME, Espanola.
