MACDONALD, Hugh John - In loving memory of Hugh John Macdonald, 76 years, who passed peacefully Saturday, July 15th, 2006 at his residence. Beloved husband of Marjorie (McCaffrey) Macdonald of Falconbridge. Father of Paddy (Cathy), Lorna (Gary Jarmovitch), Mary Catherine Egan and Peter (Jennifer). Cherished grandfather of Donald, Krista (Andre), Scott, Kevin, Melissa, Nicholas, Haley, Hayden and greatgrandson Julien. Dear son of Donald and Catherine (Crimmons) Macdonald predeceased. Dear brother of June Baker (Andrew), Patricia Campbell (Bill predeceased), Charles (Ann), Donald predeceased, Frances (Ray) both predeceased, Ronald predeceased, (Collette) and Jack predeceased (Nancy). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Hugh married Marjorie (McCaffrey) in Garson in 1951. Hugh grew up in the Ottawa Valley moving to the Sudbury area in 1947. He was a longtime and well liked Falconbridge resident. He had been a miner at Falconbridge Ltd. having 36 years service retiring in 1984. He had been a member of the Mine Rescue Team for 28 years. A proud Canadian he was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #336 Falconbridge. He was a member of the Nickel Center Seniors Club. He enjoyed watching sports on T.V, cowboy movies and reading. Hugh will be remembered as an easy going person with a great sense of humour and devotion to his loving family. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Garson, Tuesday, July 18th, 2006 at 10am. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
