OJA, Alfred “Volli“ - In loving memory of Alfred Voldemar Oja who passed away July 24th, 2006 at the age of 86 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Alfred was born in Estonia in 1920. He married the love of his life Vera on December 15, 1948 and together immigrated to Canada in 1951 and moved to Sudbury, and later to Val Caron where he worked for INCO for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Beloved husband of Vera and cherished father of Viido (Shirley) of Sudbury, Robert (Nonie) of Thunder Bay and Paul ( Eda) of Toronto. Grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 7. Brother of Edward (Eino) of Brampton and Hilda of Estonia. Alfred had a passion for the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his 3 boys. Dad was a jack of all trades and possessed a strong work ethic and love of life which he passed on to the next generation. Alfred was a member of The Estonian Community of Sudbury. Funeral arrangements entrusted to LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME. At Alfred's request there is no service or visitation. Cremation at the Park Lawn Cemetery.
