MILNER, John (Jack) Raymond - After a long battle with heart disease, Jack was called home to meet his Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he loved and served, on Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 at Pioneer Manor in his 83rd year. Cherished husband of 56 years to Joyce (Campbell). Loyal and loving father of Kimberley (Wilfred), Brenda (Guy), Barb (Ron), and David. Beloved Grandpa to Bethany, Danielle, Nathan, Ethan, Rachael, and Kaitlyn. Predeceased by his parents, William and Ethel, and by his brothers, Leslie, Maurice and Bob, and his sister Mollie. Jack was a regular member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle, and served in many areas of the church; as faithful usher and greeter, president of Men's Fellowship, and connected with the Full Gospel Businessmen. A Scout leader in his early days, he loved fishing, camping and hiking, and exploring new territories. One of his favourite pastimes was picking blueberries and other wild berries. An avid cook, producing incredible stews, soups and jams. His pride and joy was gardening, coaxing his flowers and vegetables to life. He was an active member of the Lively Seniors Club where he enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage on a weekly basis. Jack worked for INCO, in the Process Technology Department, retiring in 1983, after 36 years of service. Came to Sudbury in 1947 from Geraldton, ON where he was employed in the gold mines. He resided in the Sudbury area for most of his adult years, living in the town of Lively for 38 years. The Milner family will receive friends at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. on Thursday, August 3rd, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service in celebration of Jack's life will be held at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, 1101 Regent St. on Friday, August 4th, 2006 at 11 a.m. If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the Glad Tidings Building Fund, Habitat for Humanity or to the charity of your choice.
