RAUTIAINEN, Svante “Sweeney“ - In loving memory of Svante “Sweeny“ Rautiainen, 84 years, who passed away Friday, August 4th, 2006 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Beloved husband of Aini (Laakso) Rautiainen predeceased July 13th , 2006. Loving father of Victor (wife Willa), Kenneth (wife Glenna) and Dennis (wife Colleen) all of Lively. Cherished grandfather of David (Nicolle), Tanya, Daryl (Lenka), Mark (Angie), Kristopher (Lyndsey) and Richard (wife Aeron) and great grandchildren Alicia, Aaric, Brady and Kelsey. Dear son of David and Fanny (Maki) Rautiainen predeceased. He was born in Creighton and married Aini (Laakso) in 1943 in Copper Cliff. Sweeney worked for 32 years at Inco's Creighton Mine and Stobie Mill retiring in 1980. A good part of his life was operating the family farm in Waters Township. Sweeney's passion was gardening. From needing a “stone boat“ to haul out the vegetables, which he shared with family and friends, to an array of beautiful flowers that enhanced the appearance of his well-groomed yard. The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the 2nd floor ICU doctors and nursing staff at the St. Joseph's Health Care Centre for their dedication, care and compassion during Dad's stay. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Wednesday, August 9th, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Waters Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
