LOGAN, SADIE MERLE MAUDE 1914-2006 The death of Sadie Logan, wife of the late Walter Logan occurred peacefully in her 92nd year on Saturday, Aug 26th, 2006 at the D.E.C.H. Born in Taxis River on Feb 24th, 1914, she was the daughter of Adrian and Maude (Hovey) Spencer. Sadie is survived by one daughter Patricia Greene; four grandchildren Andrea Munroe (Bruce), Mark Greene (Lisa), David Greene and Lisa Lindsay (Michael); three great grandchildren Brian and David Munroe and Aiden Lindsay; two sisters Mona O'Donnell (Garnet) and Evelyn Calhoun; Sisters in law Edith Logan, Elizabeth Logan and Annie Logan and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Murray (Greta) and Carl (Gertrude); sisters Floris Hoyt (George) and Winnifred McLellan (Angus); brothers/sisters in law Byron Calhoun, Guy Logan (Eliza), Fred Logan, Alton Logan, Lester Logan, James Logan (Margret), Mildred Hunter (Ralph), Etta Donahue (Waldon) and Josie Jones. Sadie was a teacher by profession graduating from Provincial Normal School in 1933 and taught in schools Carrols Crossing, Maple Grove (where she met and married her husband Walter in 1942), Hayesville, Ludlow and Upper Miramichi Regional until her retirement in 1964. Sadie was a very socially conscience and caring person who loved to laugh and will be greatly missed by her family. Especially when we need our math, spelling or grammar corrected as throughout the years, Sadie had ever remained "the school marm"! Sadie was a dedicated member of her community being a member of the Boiestown Women's Institute, Hillcrest Chapter of the Eastern Star and the St Peters Anglican Church Guild. Sadie also enjoyed oil painting, crochet and, before failing eyesight, was an avid quilter. In a celebration of Sadie's life, we invite family and friends to services at Saint Peters Anglican Church in Boiestown on Wednesday, Aug 30th at 11 am, Father Andrew Frasier officiating, and a reception to follow at the NB Woodsman's Museum. In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. [The Daily Gleaner]
