ALEXANDER, DAVID WINSLOW Dave Alexander died peacefully on Tuesday, August 29th, 2006 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the later Pearl (McLaughlin) and Robert Alexander. Dave was also predeceased by his wife Margaret (Kitchen) Alexander, his two brothers Lloyd and Earl Alexander and by one daughter in-law Louise (George) Alexander. Dave is survived by his five children Wayne (Carol) Alexander, Dale (Lydia) Alexander, Joy Carter, George Alexander, and John (Peter Kaellgren) Alexander, his grandchildren Janet (Jordon) Boone, Lesley Alexander, Alexa Alexander, Nathaniel (Barb) Alexander, Erika Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Barbara Carter and David Carter and three great-granddaughters, Vanessa and Bridgette Boone and Nikki Alexander. Dave was an avid bowler and was a member of the Junior Men's Bowling League for many years. Except for three years of military service during World War II, Dave's entire career consisted of 48 years with Wood Motors Ford Limited. Dave enjoyed cars both new and old. Dave's family would like to pass on a special thank you to the tellers at the Bank of Nova Scotia for all their help with his "Penny Collection", over the years. He loved teasing "the girls" each time he went to the bank; and the nurses and staff at DECH for his great care while there, and lastly to the wonderful staff at York Manor Nursing Home for the care of Dave and his family during his short stay there. Your professionalism and caring respect was much appreciated. There will be a visitation at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006 from 7 –9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm, at Bishop's Funeral Home, with a private family grave side service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donors choice. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com [The Daily Gleaner]
