Evelyn Reilly 1935 - 2006 Surrounded by love and in the arms of her family, Evelyn Reilly (Patriquin) 70, slipped quietly away on the eve of her 50th wedding anniversary. A greatly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Evelyn fought a long hard battle with Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis before passing away at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, August 31, 2006. Born in Londonderry, NS, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Frances (Clarke) Patriquin. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Ephraim and by her daughters, Patricia Reilly-Taylor (Robin), Riverview, Rhona Smallaombe (Jerry), Hamilton, ON; her sons Mark, Summerside, PE, Michael of Moncton; grandchildren, Zachary, Shyanna , Angela and Roman; great grandchildren, David and Tayler; her brother Marshall Patriquin of Calgary, AB. Evelyn was a talented musician and began singing and playing piano at the age of nine. Music was a mainstay in her life and she nurtured her gift throughout her life playing and singing at many churches and revivals throughout Canada and the States. She met and married her husband while attending the Canadian Bible Institute in Belleville, ON. Following their graduation she and Ephraim traveled through the U.S. delivering a youth ministry. Evelyn taught music for several years before choosing to stay home and raise her family. She attended Faith Assembly Church and served as Pianist for many years. Evelyn was a gracious lady of immense faith, devoting herself to God and family before all else. She had a kind and gentle spirit and opened her heart and frequently her home to those in need of comfort. Evelyn enjoyed traveling and made many international friends who visited her in Canada, partaking of the warmth, music and hospitality that filled her home. She held tight to her faith throughout the long years of her illness, until God finally called her home. Evelyn …mom…nanny… we will love you always. We know you are in a better place now and we will carry you in our hearts until the day we meet again. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Sunday 2 to 5pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Monday September 4, 2006, 1:30pm. Pastor Neil Connelly and Pastor Fred Cormier officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Evelyn's memory, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated. The family's thanks go out to the incredible nurses on 3600 who took such good care of her. You truly were a blessing and a comfort. www.fergusonknowlesfh.com [The Times & Transcript]
