WEAVER, MERILYN - The death of Merilyn Joan Weaver daughter of Bart and Lola Weaver occured peacefully on September 2, 2006 in Saint John, following a period of failing health. Merilyn was born on October 18, 1947 in Cumberland Bay and graduated from Chipman High School. She had been a resident of the Rothesay area for many years and prior to her illness was employed in the Bakery Department of Sobeys. Merilyn attended Kings Valley Wesleyan Church and quietly involved herself in several volunteer capacities. Surviving, besides her parents, are children, Audrey Small (Edward) of Chipman, Catherine Hovey, Peter Hovey (Charity) and David Hovey all of Saint John; sister, Dixie Gower (Michael) of Cumberland Bay; brother, Dr. Bill Weaver (Linda) of Quispamsis; special friend Tim Hampton. She will be greatly missed by eight grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Castle Funeral Home "Kings" Chapel, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Kings Valley Wesleyan Church, 332 Hampton Road, Quispamsis. Merilyn's final resting place will be at the Cumberland Bay Family Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Meals On Wheels, Quispamsis or the Canadian Cancer Society.
