Al was 68 on August 24th, 2006, following years of illness, after radiation treatments for cancer. Being under the care of his soul-mate (Marilyn), at home for years, then after a few months, under the excellent hands-on care at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, left us, while in Palliative care at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Irishtown on August 24th 1938, he was the son of the late Francois & Emilia (Bastarache) LeBlanc. Al was employed as a young lad, delivered papers for the Moncton Transcript, then Lanes Bakeries in Moncton. He was a member of the Moncton Motorcycle Touring Club, Dart Club, Alcoholics Anonymous, and the Champlain Walking Club. Al enjoyed his Gold Wing Motorcycle, horse back riding, cross country skiing, skydiving, parasailing, bowling, dancing, and genealogy. A very intentive individual, always designing unique gadgets or rigging up something when others would say it couldn't be done. He loved camping, with the highlight being a cozy campfire.
