LAYCOCK, ELIZABETH ANETTA "BETTY" (MACKINNON) COOMBES The passing of Elizabeth Anetta "Betty" (MacKinnon) Coombes Laycock, of Fredericton, NB, wife of Ronald Laycock, occurred on September 4, 2006 at York Manor Nursing Home. She was born on October 10, 1930 in Glace Bay, NS. Betty was a Nurse's Aid for the Victorian Public Hospital. She was a member of the PC Party and enjoyed flower gardening. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Joan (Forbes) Lazenby of ON, Donna Brush (Gary) of ON, Sandra Reid (Mike) of Fredericton, Dolphie Coombes of ON and Brian Coombes (Karen) of Calgary, AB; nine grandchildren, Jody, Larry and Todd Forbes, Samantha Hughes, Joshua and Luke Reid, Brandon, Nigel and Nathalie Coombes; four great grandchildren, Joseph, Samuel, Brooklyn and Jessie Forbes; several nieces and nephews; and one brother, Leonard MacKinnon (Florence) of ON. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 2 pm with Pastor Verner Drost officiating. Pallbearers are Larry, Todd, Jody and Joseph Forbes, Gary Brush and Mike Reid. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. Reception to follow committal in the Funeral Home's Fireside Room. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, to the Alzheimer's Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
