WARNING, WILHELMINA AUGUSTA – It is with the deepest of sadness, our family must announce the passing of our very loved mother – Wilhelmina "Willie" as she liked to be called (nee Jungslager), on September 8th, 2006, at the age of 75. Her death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the SJRH, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Willie was born in Den Haag, Holland, and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Her life in Canada had her living throughout this vast country, eventually settling in East Riverside (now Rothesay), NB, where she has resided for the past 32 years. Willie is survived by a family that will miss her dearly; her husband, Frederick; her children, Ingrid Warning and Connie Stevens (Rick); and cherished grandchildren, Kristie and Bryan Gartside, Andrew and Alicia Stevens. Our family was indeed fortunate to all reside in the Saint John area so we shared many special times together, with our mother being that special bond that was thread through our entire lives. Our mother, affectionately known as Oma, was the most special person, full of grace and compassion, who touched many. She loved to bake (especially those Dutch recipes), play bridge, enjoy her family and friends, and ensure the candy cupboard was well stocked. Mom especially enjoyed her trailer at Long Reach, and the many trips and cruises with Fred. She dearly loved her grandchildren, and was the treat lady for the family pets. Oma will be sadly missed by her family – both for her love as well as her kindness. Willie will be cremated, and wished a simple memorial with family and friends. Visitation will take place at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), on Tuesday, September 12th, from 7 to 9 pm. A family memorial service will be held in the Chapel prior to visitation. For those who wish, the family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society or Palliative Care Unit in lieu of flowers.
