Eileen E. MacDonald 1927-2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - Eileen Elizabeth MacDonald, wife of Emerson MacDonald, of the South Black River Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday morning, September 17, 2006, at the age of 79. Born in Glenwood, on June 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Ida (MacDonald) MacDonald. She was a homemaker and an active and dedicated member of the Wellington Street Baptist Church, Miramichi. Eileen was a former president and life member of the Cathy McGorman Missionary Society, a missionary affiliated with the Canadian Baptist overseas mission; a former Sunday School teacher and youth leader for many years. Two of her former youth are present day pastors, Cory Somers and Kevin Matthews. She was a former member of the Womens' Institute of Black River Bridge. She is survived by her husband; Emerson, two daughters; Willa Strangemore, and Diane Godfrey (Edgar), all of Black River Bridge; two sons, Francis (Frank) MacDonald (Joan) and Stephen MacDonald (Kim), all of Black River Bridge; six grandchildren, Greg, Emerson, Jana, Crystal, Melanie and Natasha; two great grandchildren, Alexander and Marina; two sisters, Vera Watling (Donald), of Black River Bridge and Ada Taylor, of Nackawic; three brothers, Vince MacDonald (Emma), Stanley MacDonald, all of Black River Bridge, and Blaine MacDonald (Glenda), of Napan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Joan Acorn; three brothers, Byron, Marven and Norman MacDonald. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Tuesday September 19, 2006 only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Wellington Street Baptist Church, on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Dale Greer. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
