Gerald Frederick "Fred" Kendall LOWER SACKVILLE, NB - Gerald Frederick "Fred" Kendall, 65, of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, September 16, 2006, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Ivan and Myrtle (Dowding) Kendall. Fred was employed by The Bay for 43 years as a visual presentation associate. Fred was known in the Halifax area for his decorative decoy carvings and taught carving classes in Bedford. Fred was a long-time member of the Nova Scotia Wildlife Artists and Carvers Association. Fred always enjoyed building furniture for friends and family. Many will remember Fred as a founding member of the "Sackville Pool and Dart Club." Fred is survived by father, Ivan Kendall, Halifax; daughters, Deanna Kendall, Trenton, ON and Valerie (David) Hare, Sault Ste. Marie, ON; sisters, Elizabeth (Cyril) Ash, Fort Mill, S.C. and Marilyn (Leonard) Askew, Brookside; brother, Barry (Stella) Kendall, Moncton, N.B.; long-time friend, Edith Kendall, Trenton, ON; many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his mother, Myrtle. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, and funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens, 1078 Old Sackville Road, Lower Sackville, Rev. Dianne Parker officiating. Family flowers only.
