
Lyle J. Griffin Lyle J. Griffin, 68, of Moncton passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, September 21, 2006. Born in Elmsdale, PE, he was the son of the late Elmer and Georgina (O'Meara) Griffin. Lyle was an ironworker in New York City and worked on structures, such as The Twin Towers, Verrazano Bridge, Madison Square Garden and Trump Towers. He was a member of Local 40, United Steel Workers of America for 35 years. He later retired in Moncton and became a subdivision developer. Lyle will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, great gift for storytelling and generosity of spirit. Lyle will be lovingly missed by his wife and best friend, Darlene (Stewart) Griffin; stepsons, Joe Dennis (Cathy), Jonathan Dennis, of Halifax, NS; step-grandsons, Thomas, Joshua, Christopher. He will also be fondly remembered by his ex-wife and friend, Anne Griffin and their children, Rebecca Doucette (Peter), Brian Griffin; grandsons, Alan (Kim), Ryan, Devin Doucette and Brandon Griffin; great grandson, Michael Doucette; brothers, Howard (Olive), Florida, Wayne, PE; sisters, Anne Burke, Long Island, NY, Frances Dykens, Florida and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by step-son, Stewart Dennis; brothers, Adrian, Myles, Steven; sisters, Margaret, Mary. In keeping with Lyle's wishes there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Memorial Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Saturday September 23, 2006, 1pm.
