BROWN, STERLING "PEG" G. - The death of Sterling "Peg" George Brown of Fairfield, NB, husband of the late Lucinda (Weston) Brown, occurred on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bains Corner, NB, he was a son of the late Chester and Bessie (Hunter) Brown. Sterling was a Veteran of World War II and had served overseas from 1942 to 1945 in France (D-day), Germany, Belgium, Holland and England with the Artillery, RCA Service Corps. During his young life he worked in lumber camps and running mills. Following the War, he worked for Franklin and Hershorne for over 20 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1386. Peg enjoyed playing guitar, tinkering with clocks, fixing, rebuilding and making things. He repaired Lawnmowers, whipper snippers and chainsaws. He is survived by son, Gary (Marilyn) Brown of Bains Corner; daughters, Diane (Walter) Pollock of Gardners Creek and Connie (Dave) Morrell of Red Head; sisters, Grace Weston of Fairfield and Myrtle (Gerry) Belding of Chance Harbour; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Fawcett, Mark Brown, Terry-Lynn, Constable Stephanie and Shawn Pollock, and Michael (Amanda) and Jeffrey Morrell; three sisters-in-law, Evie Brown, Bette Dawn Brown and Norma Brown; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Ralph, Art, Ernest, Glendon, Gordon and infant brother, John; and sister, Shirley McLean. Resting at Fairfield Baptist Church, with visiting on Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 from Fairfield Baptist Church at 2 pm. Interment will take place in Browns Cemetery, Bains Corner. Remembrances may be made to Fairfield Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
