SCHMIDT, Jacob “Jim” – Peacefully surrounded by his family at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Thursday, August 31, 2006 aged 85 years. Loving husband of the late Betty (nee Burley). Cherished father of Lynda (Dino) Iannandrea of Welland, Bill (Bonnie) Avis of Peterborough, Dana (Murray) Donovan of St. Catharines and Stanley (Louise) Avis of Woodstock. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Joseph and Catharine, Matthew and Tonia, Melissa and Melanie, Beth, Kim, Tasha and Chad and his twelve great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Mary Sawatsky and friend and brother-in- law John Sawatsky, brother Jack Schmidt and his wife Helen and sister Nettie Peters; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Benjamin, Andrew and Harry Schmidt, sisters Anna Zacharias, Eva Neufeldt and Sarah Klassen. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684- 6346) on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. 10328876
