McDOUGALL, Olga - 87, a longtime resident of Lewiston, died peacefully in Reading, PA on Saturday, March 20, 2004. Born Olga Fedorkow on February 10, 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, the daughter of John and Anna [Pszyk] Federkow, she returned to the Ukraine with her family when her father, realized that city life was not for his family. When she was 7 years old, her family returned to Canada to homestead in Manitoba. Olga attended a one-room school house and worked on the family farm. The family moved east, establishing fruit farms on Niagara Peninsula where Olga grew to adulthood. Along with working on the family farm, Olga worked at Wallace's Department Store in sales and as a buyer. There, she met and married James Eugene McDougall of Niagara Falls, NY in 1945. They lived in Niagara Falls and in 1950 built a home in Lewiston. Olga became an American citizen in 1955. They were members of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church and were instrumental in establishing St. Peter's school. Family, sports, and gardening were an integral part of Olga's life. She continued to play badminton at Niagara Falls Badminton Club in Niagara Falls, Ontario until she was in her late 60s. In the 1960s she began to play golf, for which she developed a passion, playing until she was 81. She won many club trophies and prizes for her golfing skills. She had an impeccable touch around the green.
