JONES; Alan John. In his 82nd year on Tuesday March 9th, 2004 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of his devoted wife Regena "Jean" Jones of Niagara Falls. Loving father of Adrian (Donna) Jones of Kitchener, Wendy Foulis of Niagara Falls, Patricia (Brian) Antonio of Niagara Falls and Pamela Jones of Toronto. Dear grandfather of Krista, Rachel, Nicole, Douglas, Victoria "Tara", Brett and the late Clinton Jones. Great-granddad of Matthew Jones. Brother of Patrick Jones of Kitchener, Hillary Pollard and the late Brian Jones both of England. Alan with his wife and four children immigrated to Niagara Falls from England in 1957. He was self taught and self motivated and he was a very successful business man. His most successful endeavor was A.J. Steel Fabricating. They fabricated and erected the approx. 300 tons of steel in the Weightma Bridge, they also built the incline railway tracks and many other structures in the area. He was a charter member and past president of the Stamford Lions Club. He retired at 60 years of age and with Jean traveled the world extensively. They partially resided in Florida for 20 years. He was an avid boater and charter member of the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club. Alan had many interests and belonged to many steam engine and model boat building clubs in both this area and Florida. He also built unique and accurate clocks. He was a devoted family man. He always had a joke to tell and he had an astronomical amount of intelligence. He truly was a remarkable man.
