RODGERS, Gertrude Irene Frances - Age 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in Youngstown, NY at the home of her daughter while under Hospice care. Born on December 5, 1916 in Chippawa, Ontario she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Frederick) Office. Gertrude was raised mainly in the United States and attended both Trott and Niagara Falls High School. At the age of seventeen Gertrude moved back to Canada and that is where she started her family. Gertrude became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States in November of 1997. Gertrude was happiest in life surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a special love for her cats. Her hobbies included crafts, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her former husband; Earl David Rodgers and her son David Rodgers, both of Thorold, Ont. Gertrude is survived by her children: Erlene (Roy) Weaver of Hamilton, Ont., Brian Rodgers of Brampton, Ont., Jacqueline (George) Horne of Youngstown, NY, Russell (Frances) Rodgers of Brampton, Ont. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Gertrude's life will be held at the convenience of the family.
