HADDAD, Dr. John W. It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Dr. John Haddad of Ottawa, Ontario, formerly of Sudbury, Ontario. John is survived by his devoted wife Gloria, and by his sister Helen Evanshen. He was predeceased by his parents Assad and Margaret Haddad, his brothers Frank Haddad, Alec Haddad and by Dr. Nicholas Haddad. After practicing Medicine in Sudbury from 1937 until his enlistment in August 1942, Captain Haddad was posted for initial training at Camp Bordan and then became attached to the staff of Dundurn Military Hospital. Following which he was posted to France, Holland, Belgium and Italy. While in active duty in Europe he commanded a field ambulance service. He was the first Sudbury Doctor known to be with the invasion forces. Amongst his many achievements John was the recipient of a Medal in Commendation of her Majesty's Coronation on June 2, 1953. Up until his demise John was a Life Member of the Tunis Shriners Temple, Ottawa. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of the Villa Marconi and to the staff of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital for their devotion and exceptional care.
