O'DRISCOLL, Kevin James November 25, 1931 - January 6, 2007 President of Canada Investigation & Security Ltd. Past President Adanac Investigation Peacefully, at the Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus), Saturday, January 6, 2007, in his 76th year. Treasured father of Colleen and Kerri-Lynn. Proud and much loved grandfather of Carter, Shane, Liam and Cole. Loving friend of Patricia MacDonald-Campbell. Predeceased by brothers Pat, Desmond, Lorne, and Roddy. Survived by brothers Terry, Mike (Lorrie), and Jimmy (Joanne); numerous nieces and nephews; an army of friends. Golf chum "par excellence" of great-nephew Devon Latte. Lovingly remembered by Bernadette (Bunny) O'Driscoll and Jeff Hansen. Born and raised in Eganville, "God's Country" in his estimation, Kevin resided, for the most part, in Ottawa. His heart remained in the Ottawa Valley, nurtured mainly through the time he spent in Brudenell. The eldest of 8 boys, Kevin played an immense role in the family landscape. He continued this role throughout his life, as guide and mentor to so many. Kevin was renowned for his expertise in the private investigation field. During the course of his career, Kevin earned the respect and admiration of law enforcement officials worldwide; business associates; colleagues; and a vast array of clients. Family was of the utmost importance to Kevin. His was a large presence, and he was part of every family event, large and small. No such gathering was ever really complete without several of Kevin's stories, be they about golf, hunting, or the latest in investigative technology and its applications. Kevin delighted in the role of "Grandpa", he was Irish to the core; he embraced his religion, practiced faithfully, through regular participation in services at Saint Patrick's Basilica; a vivid raconteur of some repute; always impeccably attired, no matter what the occasion; astute businessman; avid golfer; skilled hunter; dedicated, long-time member of Nepean Kiwanis. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Kevin O'Driscoll Charitable Trust, in care of Murray Gordon, 203-200 Isabella St., Ottawa, ON K1S 1V7. Heartfelt thanks to the emergency crew, personnel of the emergency head trauma and intensive care units, and palliative care centre, Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus) for their remarkable care and gentle treatment of Kevin and his family. Visitation Tuesday, January 9, 2007, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Kelly Funeral Homes, 2313 Carling Avenue, Ottawa. Funeral service, Wednesday, January 10, 2007, to Saint Patrick's Basilica, 281 Nepean Street at Kent Street, Ottawa, 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the basement Scavi of the Basilica. May the wind alway be on your back and the sun upon your face and may the winds of destiny carry you aloft with the stars. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 1/8/2007 - 1/9/2007
