OBITUARY JENNIE EILEEN MAHON CUMMING 30 November, 1914 - 9 January, 2007 It is with deepest sadness that the family of Jennie Eileen Mahon Cumming announce her death at the age of ninety-two years. She was the beloved mother of Helen (John Cvejic), and grandmother of Lisa and Michael (Jelena). She is also mourned by her last living brother, Harold Mahon (Mary), as well as her many extended Family Members and Close Friends. Jennie was a very energetic, warm, ambitious and gifted person, who was always available as an advisor, counsellor and mentor to her adopted daughters and family. Her life was modeled on this poem, sometimes attributed to William Penn or Mohandas Gandhi, which she so loved: I expect to pass through this world but once I expect to pass through this world but once; Any good thing therefore that I can do, or any Kindness that I can show to any fellow-creature, Let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, For I shall not pass this way again. Stephen Grellet (1773-1855) Grateful thanks to the medical and nursing staff for their compassion and care at the Montreal Neurological Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital, and the Catherine Booth Hospital, including Dr. David Dawson, Dr. Jeffrey Hall and Dr. Fred Andermann. Visitation at the Centre funeraire Cote-des-Neiges, 4525, chemin de la Cote-des-Neiges, Montreal, H3V 1E7, Tel.: 514-342-8000, on January 12, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass on January 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Basilica Chapel, 460 Blvd. Rene Levesque W., Montreal H2Z 1A7, Tel.: 514-866-7379. Donations in memory of Jennie Eileen Mahon can be made to the Nursing Palliative Care Fund, Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, c/o Neuro Development Office, 3801 University Ave., Montreal H3A 2B4, Tel.: 514-398-1958. We wish to celebrate her life. We feel enriched for having known and loved her. May The Lord, God, Bless Her And Guard Her Spirit Forever. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 1/11/2007
