SACCO - Funeral for Mrs. Rose (Senese) Sacco was held on Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 2003, from the Morse & Son Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes to St. Patrick's Church where funeral mass was concelebrated at 1:30 o'clock by the Rev. Fr. Anthony McNamara, O.Carm., and the Rev. Fr. Bruce Taggert, O.Carm. Readings of scripture were proclaimed each by grandchildren Leanne Stallone and Jessica Shwedyk, and the Prayers of the Faithful were led by granddaughter Jana Sacco. The Offertory Gifts were presented by grandchildren Christopher Sacco, A.J. Taylor and Hannah Taylor, and a tribute of reflections of Mrs. Sacco's life were shared by her youngest daughter, Jacqueline Taylor. Sandra DiCienzo presided at the organ and accompanied cantor Carol Martin as she sang "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman," "Prayer of St. Francis" and "Ave Maria," and led the congregational singing of "Be Not Afraid" and "On Eagle's Wing." The Rite of Committal followed at Fairview Cemetery. Grandsons Christopher Sacco and A.J.Taylor acted as honourary pallbearers, and the active pallbearers, also grandsons, included Mark and Andrew Baldinelli, Fred and Andrew Sacco, Stephen Shwedyk and Joe Stallone. Vigil for Mrs. Sacco was led by the Rev. Fr. McNamara at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Players and coaches of the Chippawa Junior C Riverhawks Hockey Team filed past the casket as a group on Tuesday evening at 7:00 o'clock, and members of the Stamford Lions Club filed past the casket as a group at 7:15 o'clock
