PUBLOW, Hildred Bridget (Hilly) (nee Cannon) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Hilly at the age of 92 years on Saturday, July 17th, 2004 at Perth Community Care, Perth. Hilly was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Jane (Grenier) Cannon. Mother was born in Osceola, Ontario and grew up in Whitney. She was predeceased by her brothers Albert of Toronto, Joseph, Thomas and Patrick of Whitney, and her sisters Anna (William) Lee and Margaret (Leo) William of Perth. Mother came to Perth as a teenager and was employed at Andrew Jergens. In 1940, she married our father Bill of Perth, who passed away unexpectedly in 1967. Left to mourn a wonderful mother and grandmother are her children; Bill (John Mitchell) of Ottawa and his children Craig and Christian; Brian and Janet (Matthews) of Ottawa and their children James, Michael, Charlotte and Wil; Colleen and Stewart Evans of Perth and their children Kelly, Dana and Lindsay. Also surviving are Mom's sister-in-law Theresa Cannon of Whitney, her brothers-in-law Joseph Publow and Frances, Arthur Publow and Evelyn and her sisters-in-law Mrs. Eileen Publow of Perth and Sister Mary Publow of Kingston and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Father Don Cummings, Dr. P.V. Turner and all the nurses and staff of Perth Community Care for their dedication, care and kindness shown to Mom over the past years. A special thank you to her nieces, Lois Burgess of Perth and Patsy Moodie of Ottawa. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth, Tuesday July 20th. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church, Perth Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the Memorial Fund of St. Johns Church or the M.S. Society would be appreciated. The Ottawa Citizen
