BROWN, Anna Ella (Seibold) Loving and beloved wife of the late D. Kenneth Brown, Lt. Col., mother of Colin, grandmother of Debbie (Lubianna), Darryl, David and Anne, great grandmother of Michael, Brandon, Brittany, Chelsea and Emma. Anna was born in Saskatchewan but moved as a child with her family to Vancouver where she met Ken. They married before the Second World War during which Ken served with the British army as a Canloan officer, becoming a career officer with the Canadian army after the war. Together, he and Anna settled in cities all across Canada for the next 28 years from posting to posting. His career eventually took them abroad where he served with the United Nations. On Ken's retirement, they returned home to Vancouver/Tsawwassen. Throughout her married life, no matter where they lived, Anna was a true and dedicated homemaker when homemaking was recognized as both an art and a science, creating beautiful spaces, exquisite meals, clothing, even doing her own upholstery work. She was an artist in many media, including painting, pottery and needlework. Her gardens were renowned for their design and their beauty. In 2004, a few years after the death of her husband, Anna reluctantly left her home in Tsawwassen and moved to Ottawa to be closer to her son. She died on May 23, 2007 at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre in her ninety first year. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 6/2/2007
