ZOE JEWEL STOTLAND July 27, 1955 - May 31, 2007 Zoe "Did not go Gently into the Good Night". Zoe was a fighter and determined to do anything and everything in order to survive her breast cancer. She researched endlessly and always questioned her oncologist rather than passively accepting her treatment. Zoe was not only a fighter for herself, but was always looking out for those in need of a voice. She was a champion of the underdog and never afraid to voice her opinion. Her dream was to go to Africa and work in a small school there. As a first step, she had put together a carton of books to send. Unfortunately Zoe was not able to realize her dream. The disease finally took over and Zoe quietly passed away surrounded by friends, her mother, and beside her to the end, her beloved soul mate, Lee Kornsiki. Zoe was the well loved daughter of Rebecca Stotland Adler and the late Abe Stotland, sister of David, Stephen (Glorianne), Aunt to Kelley, Peter (Jordana) and Andrew. Rebecca would like to thank Dr. John Blondall, much more than a fine doctor, a beautiful human being and his oncological team at St. Joseph's Hospital who showed such care and understanding and always were ready to take the extra step and time in caring for Zoe. Rebecca would also like to thank Dr. Lawrence Paszat, another very special doctor who always was there for Zoe through her very difficult time. Zoe was a special person, loved by many, remembered by all. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was truly an "original". Graveside service on Sunday, June 3 at 2:45 p.m. at the Adath Jeshuran Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri St. Shiva private through Tuesday evening June 5. Contributions in her memory may be made to Dr. John Blondall, oncology department c/o St. Joseph's Medical Center 30, The Queensway, Toronto, Ontario M6R 1B5. Arrangements Entrusted to Paperman and Sons Published in the Montreal Gazette on 6/2/2007
