Marie-Jeanne Turgeon nee: Berube, of Hearst The funeral service for lifelong Hearst area resident Marie-Jeanne (née Bérubé) Turgeon, 79, of Bergeron St will be held April 20 (Friday), 2007. She died suddenly April 14 at home. Born Aug. 26, 1927 in rural Casgrain Twp, she was years ago part owner of and bookkeeper for the former Husky, Texaco and Palace restaurants, and volunteer secretary for many local organizations. A sociable, joyous, smiling, calm and patient person, she was active with the Club soleil des aîné-e-s seniors and Atelier des pionniers/pionnières Louisbourg centres, and Hearst Senior Games. She enjoyed five-pin bowling, cards, knitting, taking walks, spending time with family, and cooking. Predeceased by her parents, two sons, a sister and two brothers, she leaves her husband Jean-Paul Turgeon of Hearst, sons Marcel of Hearst and Fernand Turgeon of Calgary, her brother Jos Bérubé of Penticton, British Columbia, and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rev. Rémi Lessard is to direct the 4:15 p.m. service at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Interment following cremation will be at the Monsignor Pierre Grenier Cemetery. Commemorative donations may be made to Ontario’s Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
