MAZZEI, IDA (nee Fontana) 1920 -2007 The family announces with great sorrow her death at the Timmins Extendicare in Schumacher on Tuesday, May 22 nd, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Loving wife of the late Eugenio Mazzei (1995). Daughter of the late Giusseppe Fontana and Annina (nee Salerno). Sister of the late Ugo Fontana (late wife Perla), the late Sylvio Fontana (surviving wife Nella) of Italy and the late Leonardo Fonatana (surviving wife Anna; Ida’s very special sister in-law) of Timmins. Dearest aunt of Lia Riva (husband Bob), Anna Aarts (late husband Frank) all of Timmins, Maria Fontana (Dan) of Vancouver, the late Adriana Fontana, Anna-Maria & Antonella both of Italy, Joe Fontana (wife Vicky), Joe Fontana (wife Brenda) all of London, Ontario, John Fontana of South Porcupine. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the Mazzei family from Port Colbourne, Ontario. Great aunt to many great nieces and great nephews. She will be sadly missed by her best friend Nella Fera of Timmins. Ida was born on December 16 th, 1920 in Cellara, Italy. She and her husband Eugenio were married on January 22, 1938 in Italy. They moved directly to Timmins from Italy in 1959 where they lived ever since. Ida was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church. Ida drew in everyone around her to become part of her family. She had a loving and caring personality which was seen by those who surrounded her. At this time the family would like to thank the staff of Extendicare B-Wing for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 th, 2007 from Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Timmins & District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 23 rd, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St., S., Timmins.
