LACHANCE, Theodore (Ted) - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Theodore (Ted) Aloysius Lachance at the age of 89 years on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 at the Mindemoya Health Centre. Ted was born on February 28th, 1918 to the late Helmina Mousseau and the late Theodore Lachance. He married Dorilda Lacelle on July 30th, 1940 (predeceased May 1991). He was the loving father to Lucien (wife Karleen), Robert (late Rachelle May/07) both of Spring Bay, Linda McGuire (husband Mike) of Little Current, Danny of Mindemoya, Darlene McKerral (Réjean)of Chelmsford & Paul of Naniamo, British Columbia. He was the proud grandfather of 22 and great-grandpa of 28. He was pre- deceased by his sisters and their husbands, Julia & Ed Ritchie, Clara & Alf Marcoux, Honorine & Arthur Ritchie, Blanche & Bert Hydra, Emilda & Jim Boland and Damienne & Peter Ritchie, also brothers and their wives, Leonel & Anna Lachance, Henry & Luella Lachance & Arthur. Survived by sister-in-law Henrietta Lachance of Sudbury and many nieces and nephews. He was a hard worker and retired from INCO as a first class rigger and machinist in 1977 after 46 years, moving to McKerrow and more recently Mindemoya. He was a man of deep religious beliefs and attended Mass daily. Ted was a talented man who loved music, he played several instruments, and he loved to dance and was proud to say that he sang in the choir with most of his brothers and sisters. He had a passion for his many hobbies, especially woodcarving, taxidermy and his ever-expanding garden. Ted was proud that he was able to share his love for the wilderness and the sport of hunting and fishing with his sons. He was excited and happy to take art in family gatherings, as he valued time spent with his children and their families. Ted had a love for life and continued to express a great desire in accomplishing and learning so much more, however his health became more of a challenge than his body could overcome. In the last few years he found a loving relationship and enjoyed the companionship and being the master to his precious dog Lassie. Visitation for Ted will take place at the Massey Visitation Centre, Massey on Friday, May 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday. May 19th at 11:00 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Massey with Father Francis Ezenezi officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Massey. Donations to the Emily Richer Fund (great- niece) or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME LTD., Espanola
