Gilberte Bourdages nee: Jacques, of Hearst The funeral service for lifelong Hearst resident Gilberte (née Jacques) Bourdages, 81, of the Foyer des pionniers Nursing Home was held June 2, 2007. She died May 29 at Notre-Dame Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1925 in St-Prospère, Québec, she came to Hearst as a youngster. She enjoyed bingo, cards, knitting, and spending time with family. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Bourdages of Hearst (1988), parents in Québec, daughter Nicole Burtch (1995) and son-in-law Yvon Burtch (1996), both in Timmins, grandson Patrick Bourdages of Hearst (1985), and a sister Adrienne Quirion of Hearst (1970). She leaves sons Normand (Diane), Marcel (Aline), Gilles (Ginette), Fern (Shirley), André, all of Hearst, and Gaëtan Bourdages of Newmarket. Also surviving are: her sisters Colette (Paul) Camiré of Orléans, Louisette (Herman) Morin, Hélène (Claude) Pouliot, Lise (Claude) Morin, and Yvonne (Réginald) Veilleux, all of Hearst, Cécile (René) Matte of Longlac, Madeleine (Willie) Wisnewski of Calgary, and Thérèse (Albert) Gervais of Gatineau, Qué.; brothers Jean-Guy (Alice), Réal (Annette), Yvan (Jacqueline), Maurice (Lucille), and Lévis (Rebecca) Jacques, all of Hearst; brother-in-law Pat Quirion of Hearst; and 10 grandchildren as well as eight great grandchildren. Rev. Rémi Lessard directed the service at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed at Monsignor Pierre Grenier Cemetery. Commemorative donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
