LA FAMILLE BÉLAIR a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de MONSIEUR MAURICE ROLAND BÉLAIR 1923 - 2007 décédé le samedi 16 juin 2007, à l'âge de 84 ans. Il a vécu une belle histoire d'amour pendant 56 ans avec son épouse Rolande Vachon. Il était très fier de ses enfants: Stella, Claudette (John) et Monique (Douglas) ainsi que de ses petits-enfants: Johanne, Annemarie, Olivier et Konané. Son départ laisse aussi dans le deuil ses soeurs: Jeanne, Henriette, Béatrice et son frère Lucien. Il fut prédécédé par ses parents: Guillaume et Corinne (Perreault) Bélair; ses soeurs: Juliette, Lucille, Jeannette, Lucienne et son frère Roméo. La famille apprécierait des dons aux Amputés de guerre, 1 Maybrook Drive, Scarborough, Ont., M1V 5K9. Selon son souhait, Maurice ne sera pas exposé. Le service aura lieu le jeudi 28 juin 2007 à 10h, en l'église Blessed Sacrament, 194 Fourth Avenue à Ottawa. La famille recevra les condoléances seulement après la messe. He will be remembered by his friend and loving wife of 56 years Rolande; his daughters Stella, Claudette (John) and Monique (Douglas); his grandchildren Johanne, Annemarie, Olivier and Kanane; his brother Lucien and sisters Jeanne, Henriette and Beatrice; his friends Armand and Helene; many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Ottawa, Predeceased by his parents Guillaume and Corinne (Perreault) Belair, Brother Romeo and sisters Juliette, Lucille, Jeannette and Lucienne. Maurice served our country in WWII as a member of the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals. Upon his safe return from overseas, he ventured into business for himself. He then worked for the federal government; Department of Veterans Affairs for 15 years, helping vets and their families with kindness and compassion. Upon retirement, he spent the next 25 years fulfilling his dream with Rolande at their cottage on Lac Bois Franc. He loved to play his music loudly and enjoyed an abundance of hard work. He taught by example and inspired our best qualities. Heartfelt thanks to Drs. Bernstein and Rossman, nurses Sylvie, Rose and Christine, Carlingview Manor Staff, Marie-France and Carla who offered him care. A celebration of Maurice's life will take place on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 10 o'clock at Blessed Sacrament Church, 194 Fourth Avenue, Ottawa.
