Al was born at home on Birch Street South, Timmins on October 26, 1920. He was the third of seven children born to Melanie Brouillard and Ludger Boisvert, both of Quebec. Al had five sisters, Irene (deceased), Eva (deceased), Aline, Lucie (deceased) and Madeleine; and one brother, Arthur. He leaves behind many in-laws and 22 nieces and nephews. Al lived in Toronto for 60 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 353, Toronto since 1950. He worked as an electrician for nearly 50 years, apprenticing in the Hollinger Mine in Timmins in the late 1930's, then working as a civilian on the military effort in British Columbia in the 1940's. Al and Doreen lived for 37 years on Haney Avenue in Toronto's west end. They recently moved to Waterloo to be closer to family as Al became unwell. He lived with memory loss and growing frailty over the last few years. He took these changes with grace and no complaint. He was a kind, good man. He lived a long, happy life.
