Inez F. Jenkins 1918-2007 MIRAMICHI - Inez Florence Jenkins, widow of the late D. Elmer Jenkins, of Napan, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the age of 89. Born in Kouchibouguac, on January 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Helen (Potter) Tweedie. She was a homemaker and an active and dedicated member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a life member of the Napan Unit of the U.C.W.; a former member of the Board of Stewarts; a former Sunday School Teacher; a life member of the Napan Womens Institute; a member of the Farm Women's Association; a member of the Seniors Bowling League. Inez was also the undisputed champion of the milking contest at the Napan Agricultural Show, easliy defeating other contestants, including clergy and politicians. She is survived by three daughters, Helen Jones (Edmund), of Weldfield, Agnes McLenaghan (Garry), of Black River Bridge, and Mary Reynolds, of Weldfield; two sons, Austin Jenkins (Dawn), of Napan and Marshall Jenkins (Elizabeth), of North Napan Road; eight grandchildren, Clinton, Alison, Mark, Sheila, Micheal, David, Daniel Kyla; two sisters in law, Ethel Tweedie, of Rexton, and Marguerite McNamara, of Gilford, New Hampshire, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, in 1986; eight sisters, Josa Tighe, Lillian Sands, Dorothy Tweedie, Christina Callander, Louise Kay, Eleanor Blanche Tweedie, Neta Tweedie and Hazel Tweedie; two brothers, John and Wallace Tweedie. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Sunday evening, from 7 to 9 pm and Monday, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Andrews United Church, the Black River Cemetery Fund or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
