Audrey M. Loftus 1914 - 2007 It is with sadness and much love that we announce the passing of a great lady, Audrey M. Loftus, on June 28th, 2007 in her 92nd year. Born in Monteagle to the late Edgar and Ella (Taylor) Eagles. Audrey's first love and passion was her family. She spent her life looking after the needs of all - her husband, children, brother, sisters, nieces and nephews. She always put everyone's needs ahead of her own. She was a real lady, and whether it was entertaining the family or working in the garden (another of Audrey's passions), she would always be found well dressed with earrings, matching jewelry, and hair just so! You could always count on Audrey when you needed her. She worked for a great many years for the T. Eaton Company, and could measure your room for a carpet in her head faster than any calculator. She was a Charter member of Uplands United Baptist Church, Past District Deputy of Sunset Temple #36, Pythian Sisters (Life Member), for a great many years Education Secretary of the Mary Crisp Chapter of the IODE, and a longtime member of the Friendship Circle. She will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her, especially her daughter, Susan Loftus of Moncton; her son, Bill Loftus of Fredericton; brothers, Basil Eagles of Salisbury, Gordon Eagles (Hazel) of Riverglade, Nelson Eagles (Beulah) of Kelowna, Ernie Eagles (Gerry) of Sussex; sister, Ruth Steves of Charlottetown; sisters-in-law, Annie Eagles of Thunder Bay, Marion McCaw of Moncton; grandchildren, Jennifer Surrette (Jason MacIsaac), Carrie Surrette (Joel Sullivan) and their father Wayne Surrette, Jodi MacDonald, Scott Loftus (Sarah Haines) and their mother Donna Nickerson; great grandchildren, Jayden MacDonald and Mychal Ella Sullivan. All her nieces and nephews will greatly miss her. Warm thanks to special nieces who helped to comfort her, especially during the last few months, Isabel Eagles, Julie Alford and Doreen Burnham. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Loftus (1990); infant sister, Bertha Eagles (1908); sister, Frances Eagles (1969); brothers, Lawrence Eagles (2005), Gesner Eagles (2007) (Eileen)(2006). Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home, with visitation on Sunday, July 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 2 at Uplands United Baptist Church, 398 Salisbury Road, pastor Gordon James officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Flowers are welcome, as Audrey loved them greatly. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. The Family invites you to sign the book of condolences at June 30, 2007
