Edward G. Leppard 1947 - 2007 MIRAMICHI, NB - Edward George Leppard, age 59, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on July 4th, 2007, surrounded by family and friends. Ed was born in Dartmouth, N.S. and attended school there, until his enrollment in the Canadian Armed Forces, 1st Battalion, RCR, then to 3rd Mech Commando, encompassing 14 years in the army. He also served with the United Nations in Cyprus before transferring to Metal Technician with the R.C.A.F., where he served until his honorable release in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Cowan); and one daughter, Jennifer Bedore (Jeoff); and grandson, Ryan, all of London, Ont.; his father, Ron Leppard, of Head of Chezzacook, N.S.; one brother, Wayne (Sherry), of Calgary, Alberta and their daughters, Chelsea and Carly. He was predeceased by one son, Scott; his mother, Veda, in 2006. Ed was a member of Branch #10, Royal Canadian Legion, Miramichi; a Charter Member of the Douglastown Lions Club and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, the highest Humanitarism award in Lionism. By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The public are invited to attend a memorial service to be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Sunday, July 8th, 2007, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Diane Juckes. A reception with the family will follow the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the N.B. Lung Assoc., or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
