MacDONALD, Lloyd James - (WW II Veteran, Canadian Army Lieutenant) - Peacefully, June 18th, 2007 at the Cornwall Community Hospital (McConnell Site) in his 87th year. Beloved husband of 58 years to Shirley Theresa (nee MacDonell), proud father of Garry and Donna (John Kealey), and devoted and loving grandfather to John- Martin Kealey. Survived by his brother Milton of Cornwall and sister Rita of Toronto. Predeceased by his treasured daughter Marilyn, his beloved parents Duncan and Florence MacDonald, and his dear brother Major Archie MacDonald. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. A life-long resident of Lancaster, Ontario, Lloyd was educated in Lancaster and Williamstown and served with the SD&G Highlanders and the North Novas during World War II. He was a long time employee of Bell Canada. Lloyd will be fondly remembered and deeply missed as a loving husband, father and grandfather, a strong supporter of his community and church, an avid curler and ardent lover of sports. Lloyd served at one time as a Public School Board Trustee and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #544, Lancaster. Relatives and friends may call at the MUNRO & MORRIS FUNERAL HOMES LTD., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613) 347-3629 on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lancaster on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 11 am. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Williamstown. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, South Glengarry Branch would be appreciated by the family.
