HOLMES, MINNIE, IRENE Mrs. Minnie Irene Holmes, widow of Orran Merle Holmes, of Blissfield, NB, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 84. Born in Blissfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Myles and Hazel (Morehouse) Waver. She was a home maker and an Avon rep for 27 years. She was a member of Blissfield United Baptist Church, life time member of Women's Missionary Society, member of Doaktown Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed the Doaktown Senior's Club where she loved to go on their many trips, and loved to socialize with members. She also loved to quilt and knit socks and mittens for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Minnie attended many music jamborees to hear her favorite fiddle songs. In her home you would find many of her plants and flowers which she loved to tend to. Minnie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, always willing to help all her family. She will be greatly missed by all family and friends. Minnie is survived by her four children, Orran Jr. (Lorraine) of Doaktown, Wilfred (Irene) of Fredericton, Evelyn Clowater (Edison) of Blissfield, and Sharon Gillette (Craig) of Dartmouth, NS; nine grandchildren, Donald (Annette) Clowater, Derrick Clowater, Dana Holmes, Leslie Holmes, Melanie Holmes, Steven (Jill) Holmes, Shari Holmes, Tammy Lynn Amos and Gregory (Kelly) Amos; and nine great grandchildren, Edyn Clowater, Tyler Cook, Karissa Holmes, Jake Holmes, Matthew Holmes, Daniel Holmes, Nathan Holmes, Travis Porter and Jordan Porter; two brothers, Floyd Weaver (Lillian) and Ray Weaver (Mildred); many nieces, nephews, and caring friends. Besides her parents and her husband (1972), she was predeceased by one sister, Isabel. Mrs. Minnie Irene Holmes rested at Davidson's Funeral Home 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service was held Monday, June 11, 2007 at 2pm from Doaktown United Baptist Church, with Pastor Weaver Amos officiating. Burial followed in Ford Hollow Cemetery, Blissfield. Pianist was Becky Betts. Hymn was "Amazing Grace". Soloist Ray Betts rendered "Where the Roses Never Fade". At the request of the family, donations to NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated. Active Pallbearers were grandsons, Greg Amos, Dana Holmes, Leslie Holmes, Steven Holmes, Donald Clowater and Nephew, Elvin Holmes. Honorary pallbearers were Janet Colford, Florence Brennan, Masie Arbeau, Phyllis Gilks, Marjorie Price, Florence Gibson, and Ed Brennan.
