LATTE, Stephen Douglas March 16, 1956 - July 17, 2004 In his 49th year, at Gros Morne National Park, Nfld. Survived by friend, partner and spouse Wendy Smyth; adored son Devon James Latte, walking pal Cassie; proud and loving parents Rolf and Doreen Latte; extended family in England and Wales; many treasured friends (including the Jung Turks). Accomplished, effortless skier; avid cyclist; outdoorsman; friend of all animals. Stephen developed a later life passion for hockey, especially when played by Devon and The Hounds. Above all, a true "family man" who loved Devon without reservation from the very moment of his birth. Stephen's innate goodness has mirrored itself in countless kindnesses to Wendy and Devon by innumerable friends, neighbours and colleagues. Stephen departed on a high note, full of enthusiasm and joy in anticipation of his journey through Gros Morne; it is most fitting that his next journey should begin there. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Sunday, July 25, 2004 after 1 p.m. until time of Remembrance in the Chapel at 3 p.m. In appreciation of the assistance of Steven Anderson of Gros Morne National Park, memorial donations to the Bonne Bay Ground Search and Rescue Team, P.O. Box 228, Norris Point, NFLD, A0K 3V0 would be appreciated by the family. The Ottawa Citizen
