LENNOX, Mary Peacefully in her 86th year, at Centennial Place Nursing home in Millbrook, Ontario on July 24, 2004. Mary was a long time resident of Ottawa, only recently having been relocated to Millbrook to be closer to family members and caregivers. She was a graduate of Sir Adam Beck Collegiate in London, Ontario and George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where her academic achievements earned her membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Her long and distinguished career in government service included positions in London, Ontario, Washington, D.C., Rome, Italy, and Ottawa, Ontario. She retired from Statistics Canada in 1975. A member of the Eastern Star, Mary was active in cottage life at Clayton Lake and travelled extensively until limited by health problems in recent years. Having survived her brother David Lennox of London and her sisters Grace Lennox of London and Ottawa, Peggy Hubling of London, and Jean Sandercott of London, she will be deeply missed by her several nieces and nephews and their families, as well as a large extended family, mostly in the Ottawa area. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Thursday, July 29, 2004 from 1 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in Ottawa in the chapel of Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road on Friday, July 30, 2004 at 3 p.m. with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your favourite charity. The Ottawa Citizen
