PREECE, Norton William Served in Merchant Navy and Canadian Army Armored Corp. 60 Yr Member - Royal Canadian Legion Surrounded by his family, on July 2, 2004, Norton Preece, age 80 years, long time resident of Deep River. Loving husband for 56 years of Teri and proud father of Linda Lamoureux (Claude) of Russell, daughters Lisa and Renee and son Richard; Murray of Gatineau, daughter Terri Lynn, sons John and Casey; Nancy duManoir (Bob) of Edmonton, son Greg and daughter Lucinda; Bob (Jan) of Edmonton, daughter Jessie and son Walker; Patricia Lothorp (Doug) of Calgary, daughters Elicia and Andrea; Douglas (fiancee, Diana Jackson), daughters Jocelyn, Alison and Samantha. Loved grandfather of 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Brother of Allan Preece (Centralia) and predeceased by mother Jean and father William, sisters Bessie and Dorothy and brother Stewart. Nort joined AECL Chalk River in 1947 as a Tool and Dye-Maker, retired in 1990 as a highly respected Specialist Machinist at the NRC, Ottawa. Appreciation is expressed to the nurses in the Dialysis Unit of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for their caring attention to Nort over the past four years. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 8. Funeral service to be conducted at the Deep River Community Church on Friday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Deep River Cemetery. Donations in memory of Nort may be made to the Deep River Community Foundation. The Ottawa Citizen
